I have the North American version of Football Manager 08 (Worldwide Soccer Manager), have just received it in the mail, and am wondering if I need the patch for this version. My second question is whether or not the patch for Football Manager 08 will work for my North American version if I download it from the topic in this forum. Thirdly, will most patches and downloads (such as real player faces, crests, etc.) work for my version if I download them from Football Manager sites which are clearly intended for the English version and not mine?

Have you read any other thread on these forums? the answers to you're questions are all over the place... why not do a search? You don;t need the oatch for anything but if you want to play the game with less bugs and have the option of choosing a slightly uodated new database than go for it... There has to be at least 200 threads on the patch... If you go to the thread with the links to the various poatches you will see there is a patch for every version of FM if you have WSM and assuming yours is a boxed version you need to donwload either the PC version or mac version... It's pretty self explainitory and I really can't understand where all of this confusion is coming from... Dwonloads intended for whatever version of FM such as players faces, crests, jerseys, or different DB's will work for every version obviously including yours... If you are clueless on how to work them than go to the forum intended for such things and do a search... don't be so lazy...

Hey there, Hark,

1. If you boot up WSM'08 and the version number is "8.0.0", then yes, you need the patch. If the version number is "8.0.1", then you already have the patch. I suspect you will need to download it.

2. The patch for "FM'08" will not work with WSM'08. However, you should be able to find the patch for WSM'08 from the download center. (I don't remember if there's a link for WSM'08 from the thread or no.)

3. Yes, all downloaded databases, skins, tactics, training schedules, and image-packs should be compatible between both versions. Also, network play between the two versions is also compatible.
