Whenever a new CM comes out I usually play as Chelski for a couple of seasons, simply for the freedom it brings in terms of finances, and means I can work out the changes and foibles before starting Leeds back on the track to glory. But with both teams, there is one major annoyance for me.
I have been 2-0 down many times, changed my personnel and tactics and started to win more possession. Often without any goalmouth luck. But then as I go all-out attack + direct/long passing and throw some more players up front, I come back to 2-2 with less than a minute to go - or even deep in injury time.
With BOTH teams, whether in the Champions League or CCL1, the opposition almost ALWAYS goes on to get a third and then beat me, leaving me with yet another "good effort" team talk.
At first I thought it was because I wasn't changing tactics fast enough, but have managed to do that all the time now. Going back to my normal tactics, going defensive, ultra-defensive+slow, none of it works.
Wierdest thing is that it only seems to happen when I equalise late on in the game. When defending a 1-0 lead around the 80-min mark, I can go to short passing + ultra defensive + slow tempo + deep back line + time wasting and it works 99% of the time. So why can't I hang on to draw?
Anyone else experience this? Or is this 99% experience of mine unique? Or I may be delusional.
