Something that i've always been interested in doing is releasing every single player on the database from their clubs and giving every team roughly the same mount of money and seeing who signs for who and how it affects all the clubs. It would be great if there was a way of doing this without having to edit each player individually.

Naturally i would expect the high rep clubs to get the better players, but i would imagine there would be a few strange signings and clubs which would go into free fall.

I think you'd have to go through till February just to get a squad of 16. Would take waaaaaay too long starting with no players.

Not sure it would take that long to get a squad, the majority of players will get snapped up quickly, it would just be the lesser know players who need scouting that would be a problem.

The best way for you to do this, is to try non league management, you can get rid of a lot of your players when you start. I did with Boston Utd.

Great fun

Have played non league management quite a bit myself, with the mighty Exeter City.

Im more interested in who would sign for who and i would also think that some squads become very inbalanced ie too many AMR's etc due to clubs over eggerness to sign loads of players on free transfers.

Hmmm, it is an interesting idea - but very time consuming to carry out to be fair, because you'd have to go through each individual club and release each individual player. I'd be interested to see the results though.

Something which i wouldn't plan on doing if i had to do it all individually.

But if the editor had a function like this, i.e cancel all contracts, which actually wouldn't be that difficult for them to have a button like that in the editor. It would only have to lookup the Unique Id's, the club the players at and the contracts columns in the database, then reset them to no club and no contract.

Could take a bit of time for them all to change though!!!

Someone did this for FM07. In theory it was good but in the game it was awful. Interesting though.
