Anyone tries to stick on domestic players only in the game?
I mean using only French in Ligue 1, or only Spainish in La Liga...it seems a difficult challenge...
I tried the first one with RC Lens (taking over in mid-season) and sold most foreign players in the transfer windows (I think it takes one whole season to do this), however I struggled in my third season and got sacked with a few games to go (15th in the ligue at the being, 1 point from safety)
I tried the 2nd one in FM06, by bringing a 2nd division team Léganes to La Liga (extremely easy as all B teams are rubbish in 06), started the season brightly by winning the first 2 games, but things went wrong very soon, then I brought in a few foreign players in attempt to change things but failed....then I was sacked after last league game, the record is 28 pts from 38 games, really poor...
Personally I think it was really a difficult one, anyone tried and is successful??

Havent done it since 06, since its too hard a challenge for me That time I tried it with Vålerenga in Norway (the team I support), but since every other team in the league was able to get better players for a penny, whilst I had to pay a million for a half decent one - I just couldnt bring the glory to my team
Oh well, I couldnt when I was a youth coach there IRL either, so I guess its just me that sucks when it comes to football

ya, it's not easy.
But an improved version is using a few (3 or 4) decent foreign players in my squad. This makes things much easier. and I am doing this now when all-domestic policy is really impossible for me to survive...
BTW, in my Lens game I was then hired by Amiens, I use only 2 foreign players but playing decently. Great!!
I think lower league is much easier as there are more players of that quality available...

Yep, that is the reason why i never took over at.Bilbao, well done it once, in fm06 i think and found out about the policy of only being alloed to buy basque players, well no thanks,
I am more like wenger, I luv foreign players, why in the world should i go for the likes of sidwell or chaplow if i can get lulinha, i don't mind having a breno in my team either,
GUYS accept it, it is part of the game, and don't blame the domestic league development for the result of the national teram, that blatter guy doesnt know a snif about football, England has a massive amount of talent, it just didn't roll well had nothing to do with the matter of buying foreigners harming the youth development!

To be fair i think he does know a sniff more than you given his role!
And i souldnt disagree more, because if all the premiership clubs were like arsenal then w wouldnt have an england team to speak of before the next world cup.
Watford have got it right working with parents and the community to get more children playing football and learning at the same time, and if we dont do anything about the setup at Burton then the future for the national side looks grim.

I agree to certain point, i think it's great to raise talent, that is one the reason i play fm, i often buy local youngsters, but to a level, i mean yes i agree if every club would act like arsenal that would be an urgent matter, but that is not the case, we still have a lot of talent mate, i just think we should expose them more often the likes of Nathan Dyer at southampton and Elliott ward at coventry isn't bad either,
i think there are more domestic talent to be found in the championship than in the EPL, mainly because the clubs have the finance to afford high priced foreign talent!
I think if some EPL teams would allow youngsters to expose more that would be already an improvment.
P.S: doesnt matter if he's the big boss at Fifa i know and i think many out here would agree if when i say that S.Blatter is crap
