Firstly, i'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post it.

I want to run my game in windowed mode but when i type in the command in the 'run' box, it says it doesnt recognise 'cdocuments'...i had it working for last years game...any help gratefully recieved.

again, sorry if this has been answered a billion times.

have you put a space after the fm.exe part should look something like this

"CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" -windowed

or you could just untick fullscreen in the in game options screen

hm, that didnt work. I searched around for what i have to type in, and was referred to a link that explains all these different commands, but it just doesnt work. Im not sure i know what im supposed to type in.

Can't you just go to the games options screen and deselect full screen,

or do you have a wide screen monitor that needs the -small_screen command like this

"CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" -small_screen -windowed

i DO have a wide-screen and that last command has worked. Thanks very much for your help, and i agree wholeheartedly that Gary Neville is a red. :-)

no problem mate, I had the same problem not too long ago when I got a new monitor took a while to work it out.

only problem now is that there are scroll bars on the players attribute screen but its only a small problem that doesn't effect the game.

Heh, you have it easy. I have to change my screen resolution before it works in windowed mode.

Thats what the -small_screen command is used for as my screen doesnt support bigger resolutions than the game needs.

Can anyone tell me how to change the location on Windows Vista? At the moment, when I go into preferences and onto the display and sound and unclick full screen it comes up with a message saying "please make sure you system supports these settings" and it doesn't let me do it. Is it to do with Vista or because I am using a laptop?

It usually gives that message when the resolution on your screen is too small for the game to run in windowed mode

which usually happens when your using a laptop or wide screen monitor

i've not used vista before so i'm not sure if it works the same as xp but assuming that you have a short cut on your desktop for FM add -small_screen -windowed to the end of what's already in the target box

if you don't have a short cut for the game then do a search i'm sure i've seen someone asking about doing this on vista before
