It's either or, actually. And you'll find that "Soccer" is in common parlance in England too. Hence "World Soccer" magazine, or "Soccer AM". Also, the name soccer comes from Association Football (the proper name for football). The "soccer" name deriving from "asSOCiation". </BLOCKQUOTE>
I know what you're saying is true, but it winds me up when used in "World Soccer" or "Soccer AM" too.
Although strangely, not in "Sensible Soccer".
