this would be a great idea, another players agent could make you aware of a hidden min fee release clause, like rob earnshaws stoopid agent did (ncfc fan here)

What a moronic post.

You could at least have explained why you think it's such a bad idea.

As far as I'm concerned, agents do play a major role in football now, for better or for worse. It would be good if this was reflected in the game, as it would add yet another layer of realism.

However, firstly, I'd ask if we really know enough about the role of agents for SI to be able to incorporate them to a greater extent. And I'd also have to say that there are likely to be far more pressing things to address before SI start looking at this. Then again, for all I know, they may very well be lining up some agents-related new features for FM09!

Overall, in an ideal world, more agent involvement would be a good thing.

FM2005 IIRC or it could have been CM4, not sure now.

As for Genuine_quality I'm afraid your post lacked any & considering you've only just registered not a brilliant start.

The problem is, people have been saying "I want agents to do something" for ages, but there hasn't been a good design suggested - and this thread hasn't done much on that regard, to be honest:

If you assume that all negotiations with a player regarding "contract" take place with the agent, not the player, then:

Quote:
an agent representing one of your players demands a new contract for his client
Already in the game - players demand new contracts.

Quote:
when negotiating contracts it could say 10% will be awarded to the players agent or representative
Irrelevant - the deal is between the player and his agent, not the club and the agent.

Quote:
the selling club you could use agents to your advantage
That would be what the "offer to clubs" button is doing: "Tell agent to broker a deal with other clubs."

Quote:
It would help with unattached players being able to target clubs they are interested in joining
I certainly don't want my inbox flooded with job applications from the agents of out-of-work players...

Quote:
another players agent could make you aware of a hidden min fee release clause
Useful - but since it happens, there shouldn't BE a hidden min-fee release clause, since the agent would always reveal it ...

. . . .

So we haven't really discussed anything groundbreaking here.

Well, maybe not. But I'm not sure that's required of every thread. People are just suggesting things they'd like to see in the game. You're right to observe that at least one is actually already there, though.
