Can some show me how to edit kits properly, I tried to change a few things about on some kits and the background screwed up so it would go black or white in the game instead of the normal green background.

You can use a savegame editor like FMM. It's the easiest way.
- You can only change colours though
- and each time you start a new game you'll have to change the colours again

I only want to change the logo and sponsor around on the shirt, like move the adidas sign to another place
