Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Lazy defenders leaving the ball to go out

I find this happens more often with full backs, but the point is that too often they leave the ball to go out for either a throw in or goal kick but an opponent will chase it, keep it in and sometimes have a good chance.

This can't be to do with stats as I see great defenders doing it, although I could understand if someone with poor decisions or concentration did it.

If it's to do with instructions, then I'm thinking a low mentality may mean they may be more prone to let the ball go. As for time wasting, I only have that high near the end of match if I'm winning by a goal, so I can't imagine it's to do with that. Either way, I find it happens too much. Possible bug?

It is crazy. You will often see a defender abandon his position to tackle someone that is already covered, yet he won't ever chase the ball to the line to make sure it's out. I've never actually seen the opposition get a ball that my defender has left, but I guess this is proof.

Happens a lot for me too, but the ball always goes out of play, never seen an opponent run away with it.

It still shouldnt happen though, at least not with time wasting on rarely.

It happens a lot for me, but there's the odd occasion where an opponent will keep it in.

I'll post up some screenshots later or tomorrow for examples.

Have witnessed this myself while West Ham but never noticed while I was spurs. Maybe good anticipation, and decisions stats are essential

Does happen, and the opposition does score. Not very often do they score as a result, but when they do... bah.

When ever I watch my defenders do something stupid or go way out of position I lower their creative freedom and they seem to stop being so reckless.
However little creative freedom might result in them not chasing after balls that they obviously could get to.
You might already be accounting for this, but I didn't see it mentioned above.

Possibly. Like I said, Ive never had it go wrong and I play with Chelsea, which is an argument to your case.

Right, here's a ridiculous example from my last game. Didn't cost me a goal, but a fcuk up all the same...

If there was a big man on the end of that cross, or Johnson had got infront of Neville, then it's a great chance to score.
