hey. so i've been playing with juventus n havin a problem with gigi. He often runs out of the penalty area for a free ball n tries clearing the ball, but hits it straight to the opposing team player, who scores frm 40 yards into an open goal. and gigi is the world's best keeper... so dis shldnt happen... is dis a tactical issue or something else? thanx
I usually have my GK on a slightly lower mentality than my other players (usually one notch shy of my CBs, but I use Rule of One). I have his closing down at around 3 or 4, no forward runs, no run with ball, no through balls.
Another problem: is he having to come out because your defence is nowhere to be seen? If so, perhaps reducing your defensive line and/or the mentality of your defenders may help as it will stop the GK playing sweeper.
Firstly you're not writing a text message to one of your mates here so please type properly and don't use text speak. There are people on the forums who do not have English as there first language and this stuff just makes things unnecessarily hard for them to understand. And it looks crap.
Secondly I'd agree with the above post, especially in regards to creative freedom. Turn this right down if you want a player to follow your instructions to the letter, then make sure the keeper's got forward runs and run with ball set to rarely.
