It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default changing style of play!not confusing?

Hello everyone!I have a question that bothers me and i would like to ask if someone can help me to figure it out.

If I play a pocession game at home with narrow width ,low tempo and short passing and play a quick tempo ,direct passing ,long width and count-attack in the away games didn't this confuses my team.I mean this is two diferent types of play.Isn't it a bad thing.Play a style in one day and in the next week play in another?Didn't team get confused.I mean a team always get time to fit the ideas of the manager. If we are changing that isn't that confusing for the players in the pitch?

I don't know if a expressed myself the right way!!!I hope so!

Sorry for my english!

Cheers to everyone!Hope you can help!!!

I think it's just formation that causes mad confusion if you swap it all the time.

4-4-2 one week
4-3-3 next week
5-3-2 week after

= confused.

Thanks for your reply Hector!

Hum ok that's true. But team style of play is also diferent. Many teams in real life play 4-4-2 but they not play the same style. They just go more ofensive or more defensive...I don't know if it's a good idea change style of play game after game...

When on the team screen, ask for advice from the assistant manager. He will tell you how your players are getting on as a team.

If your changes are causing confusion, his comments will start to be negative.

I change every game, and the comments are still positive.

Does the confusion happen if the change is made in game? For instance, if I go up a goal late I'll often pull a striker and put on an extra defender in the back. Does this cause more harm then good?

Thanks

Does it in real life?

Sometimes throwing on an extra striker or defender can disrupt the system they've been playing. Sometimes sending a guy on to man-mark a trouble maker on the other team can be really helpful though!!

I tend to keep a fairly standard formation, changing the style according to injuries, oppposition etc. I come from the old days of CM where if you get the players right, the system takes care of itself. That isn't true any more but if you have one flexible system you can then concentrate on working which players aren't doing it for you.

IF your team is already playing well as a unit, I can't see that dropping a striker for a midfielder is going to cause a massive upset.

I rarely change the team system. If my team is playing well and I conceed a goal I change the individual mentality to be more attacking. If not resulting a change player put farrows on thw wingers or move trheir posicitio in the pitch. Some times a move up the team mentality to be more attacking...I don't see the reason of change the system...

cheers
