i use a 4-3-2-1 formation where I have two attacking central midfielders. the only problem is; how do I make them play good? they are really good players but they very rarely play above 7, so I was thinking if someone else had tried a formation like this and made these two players perform.
Matt, what instructions do you have for you midfielders, ams and forward?
I'm happy with my defence, flat back 4 and DM but am lacking a bit of 'bite' up front.
I tweak each one depending on who it is for example Steven Iverson is a god as an amc but has no pace so he rarely has run with ball.
I have them attacking mentality about 15.
Creative Freedom first notch of Much (again depends on the player)
Passing Style Short.
Tackling medium Closing down Very high.
Forward Runs Often
Long Shots Medium.
Cross Ball Medium
Through balls Medium.
If I have one amfc and 1 amc. I may sometimes have the amc in a free role but not both and only if he is a gifted player. If so I reduce his closing down dramatically
I think the best way to get all forward players to attack in unison is quite slow football with possible a player to hold up the ball.
Atm im testing a 4 1 3 1 1 formation with no wingers. The football is amazing to watch, fast short passing with the fullbacks getting involved too.
Played 6 games in a new game after freind went to bed. Won five losing to fulham away.
Last game was away to Arsenal. Saved the game and tried various more defensive tactics but lost. Played them with my normal home tactic and won 2 1. Im liverpool with many injuries (ie Gerrard).
