Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Man Utd Help

Im currently playing as Man Utd, but finding it hard to win games. At the moment im only winning games by 1 - 0, and getting draws against lower positioned teams.

Tevez and Rooney just cant score goals for me, and Nani and Anderson play average.
They value of nani and Anderson have dropped to 8mil thats how bad they play

Any one with any hints on tactics and player position.

I know i need to get rid of fletcher but aint got round to it yet.

My current squad is

GK - Van Der Sar
LB - Gareth Bale
CB - Rio Ferdinand
CB - Per Mertesacker
RB - Micah Richards
MC - Michael Carrick
MC - Darren Fletcher
AMR - Cristiano Ronaldo
AML - Nani
FC - Carlos Tevez
FC - Wayne Rooney

and another thing.. I cant seem to score from a free kick or a corner and when they strike it from outside the box it never goes in but for the opposition they will quite often score from outside the box

Not many goals, midfield could be your problem with Nani,Carrick and Fletcher not being great goalscorers, Try VDV in midfield. I take it your team instructions are attack minded etc. Other than that is seems strange you aint scoring more than once a game.

yeah my team instructions are attack minded. Once in a blue moon the 2 forwards can bag a few goals but they are never consistent with the goal scoring. They very rarely score one on one's.

Nani and Anderson rarley get a match rating over 7

Hi, i am a man u fan and i am also using man u with great success. 1st of all you got to keep your players, they are the champions man, the team blending will get affected if new players gets in and play. they will need time to gel, but if you have the man u team, they can start off very well. If people bid for your players, negotiate for 100 million. Man Utd is the best counter attacking team in the game and real life, so u should play counter attack. I have set a tactic like the real man utd and i just started by winning all the friendlies and owning them with 5-0 and even 13-0. I also thrashed chelsea 4-1. To perfect the tactics, i have the usual CB settings but with passing mixed. My RB, LB has arrows up the field to dmr, dml. my CMs are both forward runs rare, so they can hold the midfield, run with ball mixed and try through balls often and passing mixed to launch long balls in case of a counter. My flanks have arrows running in to the AMC position but not directly in the centre AM. They have run with ball often most importantly and forward runs mixed so as not to do stupid runs. the strikers also run with ball often and the others mixed. My team passing is short and tempo quick. This way, i have a few 1 on 1 which score 80% of the time and also goals like rooney passing down to tevez to tap in even when 1 on 1. Even if the team plays deep, my flanks will soak them into the middle then my wingbacks will move to the flank unmark and puts in crosses which also turns out to be goals 70% of the time and rarely headers.

Therefore, i feel that i have build a tactic suitable for a man u style of play and i will also be buying players sparingly like 2 players in a transfer window and maybe they are younger players rather than older big stars so that they can slowly biuld and adapt to the man u style. In this way i can go far wif united.
