I'm LIverpool at end of third season. Have £35 million to spend and want a world class striker with pace who can play on own up front when required. Was thinking about Fred, Benzema or possibly Vela (although I think Arsenal will price me out of getting him).

Wanted to get Aguero but he's gone to AC milan and they want a ridiculous amount of money for him.

Also, do you think my DCs are good enough as I may strengthen there if necessary - I have Carragher, Agger, Kompany and Breno.

What to you think, any suggestions welcome.

Carragher, Agger & Breno are fine. Never liked Kompany as he's too injury prone, error prone and is not solid enough defensively for a CB. Carra would be getting on now so you might want to get a younger CB in. I wont name names because there are plenty of them about.

Out of Fred, Benzema & Vela, I'd take Vela everytime. But Fred is sheer class too and you dont need to worry about him because he'll score plenty. Not tried Benzema much but people seem to adore him. But yeah, Vela wins for me.

Benezema is amazing, however I am not to sure he will be that prolific if you had to play him up front on his own. He is good and you could probably get away with it, but Fred is better suited to play up front on his own then Benezema imo. Benezema for me makes so much better with someone alongside him, he scores but he creates alot of chances for other players for me too.

Tbh any of them three would be ideal for you and your requirements, If I had to order the list it would be 1. Fred, 2. Benezema, 3. Vela (Altough I can't really decided on 2 and 3 its more like 1. Fred, 2. Benezema/Vela )

Had Vela on FM07 and he was really good so was thinking of him but honestly think ARsenal will put his price up too high (also, Wenger doesn't like me for some reason which won't help).

So realistically it's probably going to come down to Fred or Benzema - I've had no experience of either - looks like Fred is favourite atm.

Fred is quality but Benzema gets as good if not better and it loads younger, you'll prob have to pay 5-8 mil more for him but worth it for the long run.

If you want instant success with your striker, I would go for Fred. Vela might not be there yet and considerng his hefty price tag (?) I would go for fred.
