The only retention not frowned upon in here is urinary retention, paradoxically.

Retain Players is a big no-no. Unbalances the game.

Ahh...I get it. Well I never did it as a config in past versions, but I assumed that since it was now an in-game feature it was ok

I bet this was batted around pretty heavily in the past, but I don't understand how it unbalances the game when it merely gives you the same players that you get with a huge database without the speed drag. I've only retained players from countries that I have leagues active- England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and N.I. and I use all leagues from those countries.

Aye, I hear what you're saying, Doc. The main "unbalancing" act comes with running the UK and Irish Leagues and retaining, say, Slovenia.

After a few seasons there's a disproportionately large number of Slovenians playing in the UK and Ireland.

Bit of a floodgate scenario thing in not mentioning it, if you get my drift

I've only be able to sell the better players of the team. Unfortunatly I have to do so as I'm leaking a bit of money.

You could say that I'm a selling club at the moment but I don't have a clue if I'm able to sell more in the upcoming years. First 3 years of my save though I haven't been able to sell a single soul for some money.

So far my transfer money spend : transfer money received ratio is 1:63

This retaining players - I've running all English and Scottish Leagues, and have retained the non league teams that come with them. I didn't realise that there was anything wrong with that ? :confusedL

I'm not sure I quite understand what you're saying, about retaining the non-league Teams.

Where the game becomes unbalanced is when you run, say, the UK and Ireland and retain players from a specific Nation outwith the British Isles (like kovalenkov's poofy Slovenians )

The game has a good balance of British and Irish players, and the other Nations of the World, and transfers are weighed to resemble real life.

When a Nation's players is retained then there's a surplus of Slovenians in the previously balanced game and you end up with a disproportionately (gasp!) large number of Slovenians playing in the UK and Ireland in Teams from the non-league to the Premiership.

Is that what you meant?
