I recently play just as me. Favorite Club is always a club from a loaded league though.
If I ever get a PC which can run quite a real bunch of nations I think I'll start as someone from some obscure nation.

Hey Dead Guy.... 
I always play fictional person in my games. For example, if I am playing in Brazil, I have a Brazilian name & nationality. The only time I use my real name is if I start in an english playing league, something which I haven't done for a few years now.
