Question about Dutch league

Sorry if I'm a bit of a ****** but just need to be sure.
Playing in the dutch second division at the moment and just wondering about the play off spots. League champs get promoted and teams 2-7 reach the play off, right?
But it also says it depends on the winners of the four periods. Does that mean I can make the play offs by winning a period and than don't have to care about the rest of the league campaign?

Winners of periods gets entry to the play-off first; remaining spots are filled with teams finishing highest in the league. Which means you can finish 6th without reaching the play-offs or ending 11th but winning a period and therefore qualifying for the play-off.
