Pre season friendlies are the bain of my life, well FM life that is!

Why is it all your players look like world beaters in friendly matches but when it comes to the season proper they all turn crap!?

I have signed a couple of players who my scouts say are useful. In pre season they were awesome, smashing in goals and scoring good ratings.

I went in to the season with hope of some sort of glory, however 1st game of season lose 3-0! 1-0 down after 27 seconds!! I am then told that my team will be relegated!

Friendlies are only useful to get your players fit.
Any hope that form will be carried into season proper is usually doomed.

I usualy know how succesful my season is going to be after pre-season friendlies. The more I won, the worse it is. Mid-season are usualy other way around

Surely in reality a good pre season should give players morale as well as fitness. I certainly remember when I used to play if we had a shocking pre season the lads felt pretty sh*t at the start of the season but after a promising pre season the dressing room was buzzing with anticipation!

Pre-season matches mean nothing, due to your opponents not always playing their best team. Also in most competitive matches, your opponents tend not to bring on 11 reserve players in the second half.

I never take charge of pre-season friendlies, my AssMan takes charge of them all.

Don't you then end up with all your chosen 1st teamers not fit at the start of the season becuase the ass man has picked a crap side?

Nope. I holiday through them specifying "Use current players" and "Use current tactics".

Players are never fully fit from playing friendlies anyway.
