As I said - there's a matter of context, Jordi. Knowing you tactically favour a defensive style, and knowing what sort of keeper works with that, I'm not surprised you get good goalkeeping performances.

I had enormous problems initially at Norwich. My two "top" keepers were horrible, despite one being an international. I didn't alter my tactics, but used a reserve (desperate to play) with different stats to those I'd used to and he's been absolutely stellar. I've learned about some attributes that certainly help in my current tactic.

Doesn't explain why a pants keeper in poor form suddenly pulls a superb performance out of the hat without any tactical change though, and why it never happened to me in Portugal.

I didn't want to have a "are superkeepers real" discussion. I just wondered if in the collected experience here, particular leagues lent themselves to greater suspicion than others, and why that might be

A two week fine always does the trick.

Basically, as Jordi said, superkeepers are triggered by certain instructions. I still have no idea what those instructions are, but my tactics always seem to hit the nerve somehow

I *tend* to also think it might be a regional thing; but so far the supergoalie appeared to be in my favour.
When playing in Solvenia my goalie (3 different ones in 7 seasons) always got around 6MoM's a season. Now playing in Sweden with around the same tactics and a decent keeper if I may say so and he only occasionally gets a MoM.

hmm. that might be the case because the rest of my match is less rubbish now. Now I'm getting confused ..

I've seen loads of Supergoalies in Slovenia.
Lucky for me one of them was also mine (in last season of course).

In my long-term game in 03/04, I kept a record of goalkeeper performance for 8 seasons (basically, I counted MoMs, shots on target and goals scored for each competitive match).
Then I worked out some basic stats.
I'm going from memory here, but as far as I recall:

Brazil
In the 3rd Division season, I had 1 MoM, the opposition got 8 between them.
In the 2nd Division season, I had 2 MoMs, the opposition got 11 between them (more games).
In the 1st Division season, I had 5 MoMs, the opposition got 10 between them.
In all three seasons, I scored roughly twice the number of goals as my opponents. The number of shots per goal went up each season (as we got promoted) for all teams.
All seasons with the same keeper.

Italy
In every season, my GK (who changed) got roughly the same number of MoMs as my opponents.
Again, we outscored our opponents but the number of shots per goal decreased with each promotion.

My keeper seemed to be a superkeeper last season to an extent.

Hence finishing 5th with E. Stirling, instead of finishing bottom by a country mile.
