Hi! I've been lurking here for some time now, and this has always bugged me. LLM is supposed to be about realism, and everybody is saying they play they reserves in the cups.IRL the smaller teams always field their best players in the cup games. so is'nt this unrealistic?
in later rounds that would certainly be the case but if you were focussing on getting promoted, the fixture congestion will dictate a compromise somewhere along the line.
I am with you Bazs, I put just the same comment in to another thread a while back.
After getting some initial backing Iajafer took the thread off-topic by changing the subject and everyone forgot about it.
Of course, realistically Cups are lifeblood of any lower league team.

Ian just doesn't like cups... blame him
They suck arse for me as whatever team I put out i'm going to get played off the park. Annual first roung exit for me.
Valid point, Bazs. Which is why I do field a fairly full strength team most of time.
Except in the Vans Suck Arse Trophy™. I heard the Oldham manager on tv last week saying that unlike most other managers he decided to take that seriously too this year, which is why Oldham have progressed well. So it's realistic to put the stiffs out in that one
Nah, it's realistic for a manager to choose if he is going to try for a cup run or concentrate on the league. Not every LL team plays their full squad in cup games.
I like to give cups a go and get as far as I can in them. Apparantly I am in the minority.
It's funny how quick all the 'Cups don't suck arse' committee has come and posted here.
That being said, Cups suck arse... almost every one of them.
The only Cup I'd ever consider to throw my first eleven in would be the FA Cup and in early rounds (as the match is played on saturday and it doesn't break up the team routine). :p
