More to the point, WHAT is this retain players option? What does it do if you select it and what happens if you don't in relation to scouts?

Retain Players allows all the players from the specified Nation to be kept in the game with whatever database you load, and whatever Nations.

For example (ready kovalenkov? ), if you load the Home Nations and Ireland, but want (for some obscure and totally non-LLM reason) to manage Slovenia in the future you can retain all Slovenia's players in the database.

Problem with this, though, is that it unbalances the game, putting a disproportionate number of Slovenians in the game, and eventually you end up with all teams in the UK and Ireland with Team squads full of Slovenians.
