04/05 Thurrock Conference South

1st season in charge saw pre-season not go as well as hoped as my scouts who I'd just hired turned up with absolutely nothing and I won only 1 friendly. No transfer funds and 10k in bank.

With the fans and board expecting me to re-build and try to avoid relegation and the bookies only putting me at best mid-table I feared a terrible struggle.

After an opening day defeat 2-1 I feared what they did and decided to scout myself and bring in 8 loan players 4 on season long deals and 4 on 3 months so I could keep chopping and changing as needed.

The rest of the season was amazing with me winning a lot of games after opening day and racing to a 10 point lead to everyones surprise, including a record which I don't think will be broken for a while, 28 game unbeaten run.

Cups suck arse as we all know, lost in 2nd qualfying round of FA cup and got to 4th of FA trophy.

Apart from a blip in Februaury and March where I blew a 10 point lead down to 2 I struggled to field a team of 11 due to injuries and suspensions including my top goal scorer (and the leagues). I took the conference south on the last day with a 4-1 away win finishing 2 points ahead and surprising even myself. I also turned down an offer from Lincoln.

End of season stats: League Pos: 1, 86 points, For: 104, Against: 49

Top goalscorer in league: 33 goals

Due to me getting promoted I goot 100k for TV rights so from 10k to about 180k in a year for bank isn't bad.

An "aitch" is correct. The biggest irony is that most people that suffer from a glottal stop* stick the extra "h" in "h".


*I don't know if one actually suffers from a glottal stop, but I certainly suffer every time that I hear someone speak with one.
