Well, I've been managing lower league clubs since the first CM came out, and lurking around these forums for a few years already. I nearly don't post at all, because you guys are too strict, and I'm afraid I'll break any of the rules (written or unwritten).
Anyway, after installing the new patch, I decided to start a new game with Eastbourne Borough. It seemed to be the weakest team in Conference South, candidate for the drop, and with a ridiculously small squad.
Managed to sign three players (a DR, a MC, and a S). Things are looking good: the board expects me to fight bravely against relegation, and after 12 matches I'm top of the league with 11W 0D 1L. The new striker has bagged 15 goals in 14 appearances. I'm also in the 2nd round of the FA Cup, after beating Swindon at home in the 1st round.
Great, I already managed to break one rule. Didn't notice the 'updates only when three seasons played'. I'm very sorry about this. So please, feel free to lock/delete this thread (I'm unable to do it).
