Trouble? I can't see where's the problem here... To fetch a pearl you must get through one thousand oysters.

Not a huge problem except I was hoping my coach (Judging player ability & potential 20) might filter out some of the dross. Also I only had enough room in my wage budget for 1 signing so decided to take a punt on a 17 yr old with finishing of 15 and not a lot else.

As a supporter of a Southern Premier team, I'd estimate that about 20% of players, at that level, have been on the books of an EPL/Championship team, at the start of their careers.

However, most of them have dropped down the leagues gradually, rather than having fallen directly into non-league teams.

IRL I had a school froend who was on the books at Aberdeen until he was 17. He didnt make it there and ended up playing for Peterhead, who were in the then Highland league.

Also wasnt there a Real/England player who once played for Preston?

Well, i guess being an EPL team player isn't the same as "EPL player"? My scout found a lot of players being "free-transfered by insert_EPL_club", and they always turn out to be crappy. I don't know the whole English system, but as some stage being "EPL player" means only that this player was graduated from some EPL club training system. And, given the amount of players used in training system and really class output there's nothing unusual that many LL teams players are from "big clubs".

Another point is that of Ian. I suppose that "ex-player" means that the guy actually _played_ for his big team. No real matches - no name. Just a player.

The player in my case was given away on loan twice to L1 (former D2) team, and to ECN in my save. Totalling at about 20 games during 5 seasons, i don't really know if it makes him great or what. My suggestion is that were cup matches, or late substitutions, though it could be otherwise as well.

And, Ian, i guess questioning about keeping to LLM ethics is a year late at least
