Could you not just edit in the team?

Unfrendliest post of the year!

Why is it selfish to ask if he can carry on his game and even offer to pay ?

Hi ScottM

In a previous CM version it was possible to load the game on an updated version..(I think), I might be wrong. Having said that, I've never played a single game long enough before to have the need ask if it is possible to convert.

i have no doubt fm 2008 is great, fm 2007 is, I've seen my brothers play it, and I will be buying it.

The last thing I want is SI to sacrifice their time on fm2009 for my game. I was just thinking they might have had an internal program to just automatically convert, it was always a long shot anyway.

Apologies for my initial stance, bad morning, lack of coffee and the frustration of some on these forums panning a great game (post beat patch!)

I think more people would buy new versions of the game sooner if they new they could carry over their savegame from older versions. Myself I'd love to buy 08, but I have a great save in my 06, so I'm not going to, at least for some time. It could't be that hard to make a converter to convert the savegames. It just have to leave the new info with the default settings.

No it has NEVER been possible to do this in ANY FM/CM games.

Do you realise what you are asking for?

Can you play your Mario Save from your NES on the Gamecube?

Simply not possible as they are different.

The database in 06 and 08 are different as is the layout so there is no way it would work.

FM06 and FM08 are two completley different games.

To be fair, Ash actually come across as one of the nicer posters on this forum. Refreshing to see a guy being polite among all the trash-talkers.

Yep. to Ash.

Also, there are games on the market which have ensured save-game backwards compatibility across versions - c.f., PureSim Baseball - so its not an unreasonable thought as some people are suggesting.

It seems like a very natural thing to want to port your long-running save into the latest engine.

Let the devs get on with patches and FM2009.

And buy 2008, you really won't regret it, its great.

Scott M
