Cheers for the sarcasm. I meant pick a team before choosing the date you want to play the friendly on. This then get's rid of any dates the other team are unavailable for and hence gives the opening poster one of the things they were asking for. i.e 'After I pick a team for a friendly, display the dates they will accept'.

| Yes but not to the same degree as i'm suggesting. Tours in FM are really only cosmetic and alot more media attention, sponsorships and money should be involved.
Annual tournaments such as the 'Amsterdam Tournament' are huge commercially every summer and have big sponsorships and tv coverage. This kind of thing can without a doubt be implemented to FM

That's funny, sometimes in the middle of a season i find that managing each match becomes tedious, whether i'm winning or not. Preseason, although sometimes it can be a bit overly complicated, is always welcome for me, it allows me to relax and speculate which players to buy/loan/sell.

Pre-season is a chore, isn't it?
They say it's a good place to test your tactics, but lets face it. After half a season your tactics get useless.
I was crusing the 1st position with Ipswich in the championship until 1/4 of the season remained at which point I lost badly all the time. It felt like the game was trying to force my team to get the position it predicted in the start of the season (I was 7 points ahead, now I'm 10 points behind..) So yeah... why is it tactics fail and the only way to change it is to totaly rewamp your entire tactics? (I for one had to change from my attacking style with active strikers to passive defensive strikers and attacking midfielders to get the goals I needed...)

| This has nothing to do with setting up pre-season games, please take your moaning to a more relevent thread.

| There's your problem, then.
If you offer to split the cash - 50% for each of you - they'll accept just about every time out.
That said, I do agree with you - I wish that it felt a lot more like negotiation. "20%? No, no, we'll do it for 40%," or "No, that date is unacceptable. How about this other date, same terms?" rather than a flat-out rejection.
Also, I know college (American) football often has a home-and-away thing, e.g., "Okay, we'll play at your ground this season, then at our ground next season." I'd like to see that added as a way to build up pre-season tradition.

I arrange all my friendlies before the season is over so that I can play the best teams. Team usually always accept.
