Probably been brought up for discussion on several occations on here, but I have to publish these screenshots. In my third season with Newcastle, finished 4th in the first season and 3rd in my second, I had high hopes for a title challenge after bringing in the likes of Diego from Werder Bremen, Zapata from Udinese and so on. But - for some reason Fulham has a great, great season, which I can fully accept. Their squad is average, but they seem to have a good high morale and so on. This Fulham side collect about 70 points and finish 4th - and my Newcastle side finish 6th due to the results in the last two games of the season(West Ham and Man U away). The entire season, there isn't a game that we've been outplayed. And sure, there are games where you're clearly better that your opposition and still don't win. But this? In ONE season?

I would'nt say it was a bug. Whilst it has been acknowledged that there are some high scoring games most of the results seem pretty close. cast you mind back a few years and Newcastle/Liverpool had 2 4-3 matches inside 12 months. Does not seem too insane

The amount of goals isn't what's insane. If you look at all of the screenshots - that's eleven games that my side have dominated well and truly, and still not won. Also a friend of mine played as Atl. Madrid. In five games he had 102 shots towards goal - he scored 4 goals.

Is this a bug in the match engine or are we both applying something wrong in our tactics? At least 50-60% of our shots are ON target, so it's all very strange if this isn't a bug.

Computer is fine, but when Chris Iwelumo(COME ON!) got Charlton the winner in the 84th minute with their first shot - my chair turned into an ex-chair.

ZzozZ, that is a common problem in the game & hopefully will be sorted out in the next patch. I am also bored of seeing the AI score easily many times in this game on their first attempt on goal even if you had ten shots previously without success. It has made me lose hope so please save my faith in FM08 8.01 patch.

same thing happens to me. so so so frustrating. are the opposition keepers always getting MOM too?

Not always, but it happens from time to time. My strikers, especially Owen with 20 for finishing and 19 for composure and so on. Can't believe some of their chances.
