With crashes, I usually download the latest drivers, and this might sound silly, but for a game or two it helped to reduce the hardware sound acceleration from maximum to standard. To do that, klick on start, run and type: dxdiag.

From there on you can access the sound tab with these settings. Warcraft3 has always been prone to give me a bluescreen with acceleration set to maximum, was the case on my old computer, appears to be the case with my new one as well. Might have to do with onboard sound chips, I don't really know.

About the vid card, I really don't think Footie's that demanding on vid cards. There's no 3D calculation to be made at all, and for 2D any supported card should totally suffice.

Ye sure, but what are the requirements for Footie anyway? Buying a new PC just for a game... RAM's really low though, vid card shouldn't be an issue at all.
It's kind of funny that the first thing you stumble upon when googling football manager 08 system requirements is a warez link. Heh.

Normally you get these kind of errors (Blue Screen of Death) if you have a faulty bit of hardware, IRQ conflict or that some drivers are causing this error. Have you upgraded any video drivers or other hardware drivers at all? If so you can do a "Roll Back" to the previous versions.

Best way, but also a tedious way is to remove/disable non critical hardware bit by bit and keep trying, i.e disable/remove PCI Network Card, un-plug USB devices etc.

Also have you tried (may work) restoring to system restore point (a point in time you know the PC was working OK) To do this if running XP is
START | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore. Click on the calendar to put the PC back to that previous date. THIS DOES NOT REMOVE DATE but read the info on the screen before doing this. Your PC will automatically reboot during this phase also.

Other than that make sure you dont have any viruses.

I'll be honest i have not done a search on the MountMgr for you but there is bound to be something on GOOGLE.

Hope this helps or at least eliminates a few things that could be causing it.
