8.0.1 - it fixes the errors in the first patch. The game's still not perfect with the patch, but it's very, very playable.

yh i understand that 8.0.1 is the update to 8.0, but playing 8.0.1 isnt that easy itself, i mean the odd long shots and all that. ive heard alot of rants about the 8.0.1 itself.

For me the best patch was the second beta patch. If you can still find it good luck to you. I installed the new patch and just could not get on with the game as it now is, so I uninstalled it and did a re-install and updated with the second beta patch and I am having a great time with the game.

Can't help thinking that SI have completely screwed up with 801, but hey that's my opinion. Let's hope that SI resolve this with 802 when it comes out.

There are still some issues, most of which have been well documented on these forums. But 8.0.1 is the way to go as it fixes some of the out of box problems e.g. disallowed goals from corners etc.

Don't let the bugs that are still issues put you off, although 8.0 is definately easier.

sure, there are still issues with 8.0.1 but i think we forget how incredibly detailed this game is and the amount of work put into making it must be phenomenal. it can only get better and pure perfection is almost impossible to achieve so we must enjoy the mostly brilliant game it is and be patient for the minor flaws to be fixed.
just imagine life without this game at all!

Life without FM would mean my degree would be finished by now.

It isn't worth thinking about.

How do you know which patch you have? I have downloaded a patch that said 8.0.1 and my game tells me its 8.0.1.114310.
Now does that mean I have the first patch, the beta patch, the second beta patch, the official patch??? Theres so many I just don't know!!
