I didnt make it clear- but when I meant "at this level" I meant lower league level.

Although imo slow defenders are pretty poor at any level as they cannot cope with balls over the top, or even players running at them.

They are poor defenders. Gardner isn't great and Melchiot isn't great either.

What's their rating for work rate, heading and in particular concentration.

If concentration is low then they will be extremely prone to mistakes and lapses.

Agree, but Ive found that at lower levels that its better to go for physical attributes over players with even outstanding mental/technical attributes.

Whereas previously we could buy old timers that had lost their legs but would make up for it with their mental and technical strengths.

I dont think this is realistic- but imo it will be fixed as part of the one v one fix etc, where balls over the top and fast players benefit from the poor defending in the match engine.

Definately, I played Thomas Linke in a cup game for Bayern and at 38 he had great mental stats and pretty good tech stats but has 3 for pace. He had a couple of yards on the front man but still didn't get to the ball in time.

This is why I don't think it is a bug as whilst he's he's good he's just not good enough.

Not a bug at higher levels but I think a lot of these guys should be better lower down the leagues.

Its not just old players either- when I was manager of Billericay in L2 we played Chelsea away and my strikers gave John Terry in particular a nightmare,as they failed to close down space effectively.
