Default Winning a Cup without winning a match

Has anyone ever managed to do this? Obviously what I mean is to win a cup despite not winning a game and having to rely on penalties (or away goals) at each round. Or even in the Champions League, not winning a group game but still qualifying. I only ask since I've failed to win my last 4 Champions League games, but have twice now gone through on away goals. It sounds like it'd be quite a rare achievement, but someone must've done it at some point.. right?!

I won the European Championship with Norway without winning any of the games in the knockout stages. This was on FM07 though.

Never done it without winning a game. I did blag my way through to winning the Champions League with Kilmarnock in 03/04 without being at all impressive in the knockout stages though - a few away goals wins. We also played Dynamo Kiev 4 times and didn't win a single one of them in group or semi-final, but still went further than they did

I have lost a major cup final to a team that after extra time had 0 shots at goal and 0 on target. Lost on penalties to them which was pretty frustrating
