Hi, i have just started a new game and bought a player who was incredibly for me in a previous game (Mika Aaritalo).
In my main game i played which i started with the first beta patch he had a potential ability of 173.
I then checked my first game with no patch and he had a potential of 155.
In my new game after buying him his potential is 113 with a current ability of 93.
Now in my main game and pre-patch game he immediately broke into the squad and was by far my best player. This was as Hearts in the spl. My new game (at wolves) i have only played one game so far so cannot judge his performance but he has a current ability of 93 which surely could not be the same as before since he did so well.
Can anyone help? Can players abilities vary from game to game or could this be down to changes in the database through patches? And if so why would SI alter him for all three?

Before the full 8.0.1 patch(with the DB) was released he was a -9 IIRC, I beleive they've toned his stats down and his PA to -8
OK thanks. So i take it there is a degree of randomness to what a players potential will be game to game? Also that it is not influenced by what the user does.
I checked in database and his potential is -7. It strikes me as a little odd, as from my three games, it would imply that firstly SI must have made potential better in beta patch and then back down to worse than it started at in final patch.
there arent any that are left blank afaik, but they are assigned numbers with a "-" value, ie -10, -9 etc... each one has a range of abilities, i believe -10 is from 200 down to 180 or thereabouts, so that can explain the variation in some players abilities...
