Can anyone suggest at what point of the close season managerial changes take place? Its into June now and despite masses of speculation nobody has been sacked, which strikes me as odd as you'd think clubs would want to get new managers in fairly early to allow them to compete in the transfer market. Perhaps it's just the non existant stream of news as far as sackings go but in my version there seem to be few sacking compared to RL.
Also does anyone think it would be a good idea if you could make demands/ultimatums when negotiating a new contract, such as being promised transfer funds for next season, job release clauses, etc. Although given the vast array of bugs at present perhaps this is stretching too far...
I agree, but I'd expect to happen around the end of the season more often than at any other time. In FM, a lot of sackings are done by clubs not renewing a manager's contract, so I assume June would be a good time to check (end of June).

Thats a fair point. Most manager contracts run out at the end of June, managers retiring depends on which league you are competing in I suppose.

True, but surely it would make more sense to decide within a week or two of the season finishing and then pay up the remaining month or two just so the club isn't playing catch up with transfers? Also sackings won't just occur with managers whose contracts are expiring, although admitedly most sackings will occur during the playing season.
I don't think that many sacking occur at the end of the season really. The main time is November or December so the manager can come in and make a difference to the final squad.
