Just wondering if anyone knows how to do this, by about one line, so as to make windowed mode work on widescreen laptops at 1280x800.

I'm using this and haven't encountered problems.

"CDemos\fm.exe" --small_screen --windowed --fullwidth=1280 --fullheight=800

This of course in the 'Target' area of the 'Shortcut' used to run it.

Try fiddling with the numbers in the layout tag here in player profile.xml:

Also, I would recommend putting the player availability bit in a scrollbox, it will give you a lot more room to play with, without loosing info.

One doubt have you tried 'Auto-hiding' the taskbar or placing it on one of the sides ? (I prefer this last one).
