For me the best tactic by far is the 4-3-3 normal template have been using it for just over 2 years and now my players have developed a fantastic understanding.
i am managing a austrian team called lustenau first season i had to save them from relegation in order to get a new contract as i started the game as unemployed.
2nd year just missed out on promotion but managed to win the austrian fa cup performing solidly throughout and beating rapid wien in the final 2-1. i am now worshiped by the lustenau fans and hope to get promotion this year.
this year i have a new midfeilder just come through called franz knaller i will post all the screenshots later when i finish work

You didn't win the league, so it's not that good.
Play any tactic for long enough and your players will develop a good understanding.

mate i was expected to get relegated i am a crap austrian team compared to the big guns like salzburg, rapid vienna, sturm graz.

| So a relegation battler didn't win the league, badman2004 must be a crap manager. Arsenal is a top class team and they can't win the league, Arsene must be utter rubbish.
Well done badman, personally I think the default tactics are not too bad as well. :thup: Though most people prefer to create their own tactics without even trying out the default tactics first, but since FM 06, the default tactics have really improved.

The preset tactics are just templates none of the sliders have been set

You miss the point... it's hardly 'the best tactic by far'.
