It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

I started using this tactic a few months into my Spurs game. I win mostly, but had a few losses at the start and of course the odd loss or draw here or there. I'm 3rd at the moment (or 2nd), got a game in hand anyways. Its pretty close up there, with only a few points between me, Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea (a little behind), with Arsenal about 3-6 points a head of us.

Problem is, with the January transfer window gone and the re-rankings happening, I haven't been playing as well and before nearly every game its 'High flying Tottenham are odds on to win this game easyily, but they'll have to be wary of complacency against blah blah' (something like that). Now most teams are playing defense against me and I'm finding hard to figure out how to adjust the tactic when playing against heavy-defensive teams. I usually either move the defensive line to 'push up' and tick 'Offside Trap' or similar things.

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help, and great tactic.

I've started a new game with burnley to try out your tactic but it just hasn't worked for me at all 3 wins 6 draws and 6 defeats so far although i did beat tottenham away in the 3rd round league cup. Do people think it just takes time? at the moment tho I cant see it working I don't look like winning any games at all n the ones i have won have been tight affairs won by one goal in the dying minutes. Someone above said it worked better with the counter attack off, anyone else agree?

It worked great for me.

Are you using a suitable target man and a faster guy along side him?

yeah Gifton-Noel Williams is my target man 15 for heading and jumping. Maybe my other striker is the problem. Can anyone recommend a good, cheap striker to up alongside GNW. You only start off with 50k as Burnley and your given odds of 100-1 for promotion so mayb no tactic can get them up first season, I have tried a few! The tactic is improving up to 9th at end of december won and lost bout 10 games n drawn a few mayb if I can get a decent partner for gifton in january It'll work better

okay mate, gonna try and use this now with newly promoted forest team. Only played 1 game so far this season, but we aint been dominating many games. Played Sunderland at home and lost 1-0, first game of second season. If I beat Birmingham away with your tactic, then I am sure its a success, will report back after 5-10 games.

Still isn't working for me, which seems really strange cos it seems to be working well for everyone else. I havent downloaded the patch, could this be why? I've heard that it makes a big difference to certain tactics.

Have you made the changes seeing as you're not playing as a top club?

And I think the patch might be needed for this to work, although I can't be sure, as many people have said that their tactics stopped working when they patched.
