I have Guardado and Daniel Alves as my wing backs in my 5-3-2 formation, could you give me some hints how their personal instructions should be? They only perform to about 7.20.

7.20 is pretty good for fullbacks. As long as your results are fine I don't see why you should change. In my experience it's very difficult for fullbacks to stand out on a football field and put in 8's week in week out, just like IRL.

| Well IMO. Daniel Alves has played to around 8.00 IRL. He has had a fantastic season in Sevilla.

anything above 7 for full backs is good. 7.2 is actually very good. as long as they're getting assists and the team is winning, then it shouldn't be a problem.
With regards to instructions, it depends what you want from them really, whether you want them to be very attacking or not. What settings have they got currently?

You cant waste Alves in a defensive role, forward runs, crossing, dribbling, creative freedom give him the lot, i assume your team with such a class player is a strong side, so most teams are going to have a defensive set up against you, so you might aswell let them bomb forward.

I do that with Alves and Guardado, though I play 5-2-3. Forward runs often, run with ball mixed, mentality a little higher than my centre backs. They play quite well, set up a lot of attacks. Eboué and Clichy seem to like this system too.

| Why only run with ball on mixed, when they so good dribblers?

| would imagine thats down the the fact there playing wingback and so less chance of losing the ball and getting caught out of position

Having mixed runs on the full back is fine, i hardly put them on often. If they have quite high CF they will get forward anyway. I find with 'often' the full backs make some suicidal runs forward, and the AI likes to put diagonal balls over the top. So gung-ho full backs are a big no no, for me anyway.
