It works best with two strong defensive midfielders and a consistent goalscorer. Its great agains bigger teams like Man U and Chelsea etc...
The centre backs are very very defensive minded and the full backs also are but not as much. As well as that both of the defensive midfielders are also are set to be very defensive with closing down all the way to the right. This has proved very hard to break down in the past.
The other four players are set to be very attacking which I think creates a good balance of defense and attack through out the team. The MC is set to have a free role and if your MC is good enough I would reccomend making him the playmaker. Both the wingers have farrows so when attacking it can be like playing three strikers at times.
Then the lone striker should be a good target man, either with pace and play balls in front of him, or with good strenght and first touch so that balls can be played to his feet and he can hold it up.
If anyone is interested it would be cool for you to try out my tactic as I wouldnt mind seeing how others do with it and how people think it could be improved.

I shall give it ago tonight....been finding it hard to find a tactic that works in my 2nd season with Swansea...Life is tough in the championship....
I generally like playing with 2 strikers but I'll let u know how my team reacts to it...

ill give it a go at some point - playin with wolves at the mo.
whihc teams have you used it with?
Iv played it with Liverpool, West Brom and St. Pats. Its worked best with Liverpool though because I had Sissoko and Alonso in the defensive midfield positions (great players), and as I said these two positions are the key to the tactic working
I play with 2 DMC's away but slightly different to you
.........GK.........
..DR..DC....DC..DL..
......DMC..DMC......
..MR............ML.. (Farrows to AMR/L)
....................
......FC....FC......
I have 1 DMC stand still and get in the way (but go forward in attacks), while the other 1 closes everything down and drops back for attacks
i play as liverpool so i had Sissoko as the ball winner, but he is rubbish going forward (except for heading set pieces, but thats another matteR) so I had him tackling, and staying back, and passing to xabi alonso the play maker
I had xabi just getting in the way really, makelele style irl I suppose, but going forward and getting those long shots and through balls which are his key strengths.
It beat man u 4-2 at old trafford and against arsenal it went, 0-1, 3-1, 3-3, 4-3. which was a bit weird.
its a good away tactic, sucks at home even against big teams, i suppose they are sitting back though so its kinda like the aston villa- liverpool stalemate last weekend when that happens.

I know what your sayin. Give mine a go though because you might be surprised how well it works. I played both of my DM's very defensivly but I had Alonso playing long balls, taking long shots and trough balls beacause as you said they're his strengths.
I had Gerrard in MC and used him as my playmaker. I think that its best to use another man in midfield because when Alonso or Sissoko were winning the ball they played it straight to Gerrard as he was always in acres of space because the oppositions two CM's were tryin to control mt DM's.
I dont see the need for two strikers because the farrows on the wingers means that when I had the ball they were always up alongside my lone striker which meant it was like having three strikers at times. My wingers scored loads of goals using this
Has anybody tried this out yet? I only uploaded it onto FM Downloads a few days ago and already 175 downloads. Some of you must have. Any feedback on it would be great
