Hi guys,

I currently use a 4-4-2 and my two best wide aren't really typical wingers, both of them aren't blessed with pace but both are good passers of the ball, one is ok at crossing while the other one is very good,

with this in mind I thought tuck my wingers in and encourage my two fullbacks to get foward more often to provide width. does giving free role encourage them to tuck in or not, or do i change my formation to a 4-1-3-2 formation as both my wingers can play in central midfield.

A 4132 is probably the best way to go, the only method i can think of is to reduce forward runs and mentality on your wingers, with fwd runs on often for the fullbacks. Also, puting 'cross from deep' on your wingers would help.

This might not be practical, but you could look for 'cuts inside' in any wingers you consider buying and 'hugs lines' for fullbacks.

I have my AML and AMR arrows to FC. Works great home...

Away I am not so sure, might be other things I am struggling with.

But atleast my wingers now cut inside but still they sometimes keep their width so they dont act like attackers.

an idea has just struck me!

have your fullbacks with a farrow and FWD runs often and instruction like cross ball run with ball etc

have your 2 MC's defensively minded or even have them as DM's to cover the space your FB's leave(they will do this automatically without having arrows)

and finally have your wingers with diagonal arrows to the AM positions and have typical AM instructions

this sounds good to me- i may even give it a try myself
