Hey everyone just a couple of questions

Whats the best way to defend free kicks, or better just not give away free kicks? I seem to let in about 18 free kicks a season. I heard putting a man on the post stops you conceeding - does this work? or does it just make things worse by playing everyone on side?

and what can I do to score more from corners, I only seem to score 1-2 a season and would like to score more from corners at the moment I have my 2 centre backs attacking front + near post.. any suggestions welcome ty.

not sure for free kicks as i don't really struggle with them

as for corners put your best player in the air on the near post flick on your 2nd best to challenge GK and a goal poacher to stand on far post then set your corner taker to play corners to the near post - this works a treat my CB who is on near post flick on has 12 goals in the EPL alone from this and once scored a hat-trick last season from headers from corners

I've improved my defensive record from free kicks considerably since putting both fullbacks on the posts.

I usually then Man Mark with both centrebacks and a defensive midfielder and have both wingers and attacking midfielder in a 3 man wall (4 is not neccessary in my opinion) and two strikers forward.

By far and away the best corner routine I've used is as follows (in a 442):

Fullbacks - Back
DCR - Keeper
DCL - Near Post Flick On
MC - Back if Needed
MC - Lurk
MR/ML - Forward
FCR - Stand on Far
FCL - Forward

Then aim to Near Post from both left and right, and if that doesnt get my DCL at least 10 goals a season I'm disappointed. Can be the difference between winning a trophy and not from past experience.

This is brilliant. I started a new game as Arsenal coz I'm gonna be playing as them in an online game with some mates so I needed to try 'em out.

I have found it hard with whatever club I use to score from corners but I've just started using the corner tactic that Aston has just said and it works wonders.

I've played 4 games since I started implementing the tactic and Kolo Toure (Who I've got doing the near post flick on) has scored in every game

FuSS have you got a player challenging the keeper? - i've found this to be nessecary since 7.0.2 as it stops the GK coming to collect the ball before it reaches your man on the near post

Having a player challenge the keeper is vital for this corner routine, I sometimes have both my DC's on the keeper with my tall target man on near post flick on.

gets me 10+ goals a season, very usefull for the push for promotion.
