It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

hi i just played man city, as newcastle, i was away and wasnt favourite, so i used wwfan's away tactics and tweaked them a bit and used ashyr's tactics of going narrow throught the middle and direct quick counter attack. i had a deep defensive line, the lot.

i didnt win, i lost 1-0 which was coming i was absolutely battered. i'm so annoyed!!

and i was wondering, people say do the opposite to the opposition, but what do u do if the opposition goes short possession football and attacking? i either go defensive CA with direct passing (which is gonna give them possession) or i go short and possession which contrdicts the CA, what do i do?

Play balanced, high tempo and high closing down, try and upset their short passsing game, don't give them time and space. Play a quick tempo, quite narrow (as they will be looking for a killer through ball.

Basically play how teams play against Arsenal in real life.

also if you play direct and quick helps to play wide(atleast normal) and to focus play down both flanks - this can cretae some blistering counter-attacks

thanks i used both pieces of advice and drew 2-2 against arsenal away!! was winning 2-0 and they had:
22 shots 6 on target
54% possession
17% better pass completion and i had 3 shots on target out of 3!! not so bad would have taken 2-2 at the start
