Hello all.

I have a question, and hopefully the gurus of FM can answer me. Thanks.

I notice that the opponent gets lots of shots during the game, despite me dominating the match, in terms of possession. Their passing rate, however, remains slightly lower than mine.(when i'm on 75% passing, they are on 72%).
The shots they made are mostly from long range, however, there are a few dangerous ones and sometimes my GK have to make a superb save to stop it from going in.

So i want to ask how to reduce the opponent's number of shots.

Methods I tried:
Increasing closing down - This drags my defenders out of position and the strikers are able to shoot nearer to goal, which isn't what I want.

I didn't touch defensive line because my players have an average speed and acceleration of 15. So I leave it as 3 click of Normal.

Are there any more ways I can try?

sorry, i don't know how to reduce the shots but can i ask how u manage to limit the opposition because, unlike yourself, i don't mind conceding a 25 yarder

Try putting in a defensive midfielder to close down on the ball. This won't drag out your defenders and should work well as a stopper in front of the back 4 i think!

I play with a back 4. The full backs are solid defenders instead of attacking fullbacks like Lahm, Marcelo etc.

They are on Normal mentality, Low Creative Freedom, Closing down Rarely.

My average speed and acceleration is 15, so i left the Defensive line at 3 clicks of Normal.
