Default Staffing Attributes - What to look for?

Hi, am new to the game and am trying to figure out what to look for in Players and also in the Staff so as to get the most/best out of any team from the lowly placed Conf North/South teams to the highly placed Premiership teams.

So I'd like to hear your views/advice on what Attributes I should look for when assigning Staff:
GK Coach = Gk (obviously you would try get the highest in this Attribute, but is there anything else i should look for as well as this?)
Coach = ? (what Attributes would i look for here?)
Fitness Coach = Fit (Obviously again here it would stand to reason to pick the highest you can, but is there anythin else besides gettin someone with high Fitness?)
Youth Coach = Yth (here it would stand to reason to pick someone who works extremely well with Youths, but what else?)
Physio's = Phys (here it also stands to reason you'd want someone with high Phys, but what else?)
Scouts = ? (What Attributes would make a good Scout?)
Assistant Managers = ? (What Attributes would you consider to be the main priority for here)

Oh and which would be the wiser, bring in new players first, or bring in new staff first or simply just bring in both as when you can get them?

I have browsed some of the other threads to see if i could find anything that would answer these questions for me, but some of what i found, i just did not understand .

one ofthe first things i look for in a 1st team coach/coach is a high level of discipline 14+ or better,sign someone with a low level and you get red cards quite often.

Fitness coach should have a top rating for fitness and physio and mental is also handy

Scouts should have judging player ability and player potential scores

Physios is obvious

youth coach,first u should look to improve youth facilities but again a good score for working with youngsters and also discipline is a must

assistant manager should have high motivating and man management, especially if you have him doing team talks

scouts should also have high tactical knowledge for scouting your next oppoisition

This is taken from another thread:

Strength: Fitness 18+
Aerobic: Fitness 18+
Goalkeeping: Coaching Goalkeeper 18+
Tactics: Tactical 18+
Defending: Defending 19+
Ball Control: Technique 18+ & Mental 18+
Attacking: Attacking 18+ & tactical 18+
Shooting: Technique 18+ & Attacking 18+
Set Pieces: Technique = 17+ Mental + Attacking = 39+


Bascially, there are 9 categories as stated above. If you want 5 Star ratings in all categories, you will need to put ONE coach in each category who has the required attributes. Say for example, you want a coach for ball control. For that, you'll need a coach who has technique attibutes of 18+ AND mental attributes of 18+. It has to be ONE coach having BOTH attributes. And the same goes for the rest.

But make sure you have one coach (he can be a crappy one) who you put on ALL categories. This one can be the cheapest you can find. This is only done so as to balance out the other coaches workload. Make sure that no coach has a heavy workload so they wont be as effective.

Also, bear in you put any ONE coach on two or more different jobs, the stars will decline as his workload will increase. Say for example you have a coach who has attributes of:
Defending: 19+ , and
Tactical: 18+ ,
you cant put him on BOTH defending AND tactical training because then his performance will decline and so will the star level.

Depending on what club you play with, just look at the staff you currently have and see what you need. Hire/ fire accordingly!

Hope that clears it up somewhat!


PS: Try to make sure that these coaches have a high rating on the "working with youngsters" attribute. This way, you can also get them to work with your youths.

thats not all the combinations though for the last four,

Ball Control: tech 20/ment 10, tech19/ment 14

Attacking: att 20/tact 10, att 19/ tact 14

Shooting: tech 20/ att 10, tech 19/ att 14

Set Pieces: tech 20/ att + ment = 30, tech 19/ att + ment = 34

Thnx olli-efc, i'll bear that in mind whilst am lookin at coaches, both Yth & Gen Coaches.
