After an unsuccessful first season in charge of Roma (I finished 6th), I decided to splash the cash in the summer, signing Ribery, Quagliarella, Mario Gomez, Mertesacker amongst others. However, results aren't fairing much better this season. Totti, Ribery, and Quagliarella continue to under perform.
Currently, I play Totti behind Gomez, with Ribery and Quagliarella on the right and left respectively. I can't get good performances out of any of them, particularly Totti. He's a talisman in real life for Roma, but for me he's nothing more than average. I play him with a lot of freedom, with all instructions on mixed. For Ribery and Quagliarella, I just ask them to run with ball often. Again, neither of them really perform to any sort of impressive level
Does anyone have any successful past experiences with them? Can Totti play as a striker? Is Quagliarella better through the middle, and Ribery better on the left? Any help would be appreciated!

How about Totti playing a free role? He certainly seems like the kind of player who would be made for that instruction. Also I would have him making regular forward runs, through balls and get him to run with the ball often.
I've had a little experience with Ribery, and he never impressed me. A 7-rating player at best I found. I played him the same way as you, but on the left. However, I've seen many people saying what joy they've had with him so he could be one of those gamble players.

I managed Roma in my last game and i found that Totti plays much better as a striker than as a amc etc. I think his goal scoring stats were 20 goals in 30+ games while getting alot of assists too. His average rating was something like 7.80 roughly. When i signed Podolski in the summer of the next season i decided to move Totti to amc where he averaged 6's. I don't have any experience with Ribery and Quagliarella so i couldn't tell you about them. Hope this helps mate.
