I have just signed Juan Riquelme for 1.5m in my first season as Middlesbrough. His contract was up at the end of the season, but I needed a creative player.

Problem is, I'm not sure how best to use him.

I am playing a 4-4-1-1 formation, so I am planning on using him just behind my main striker, should I use him in a free-role or playmaker and run everything through him?? Should I set him into my formation and hope he conforms and settles in. So many things going through my head.

He is probably the best player I have ever signed in my first season at 'boro and I dont want to waste his un-doubted talent.

Help is desperately needed.

I would player him in behing your striker definitely as playmaker, possibly as a free role, you might want to expermient with that on and off.

Also let him have all of your set pieces he's a demon.

play him as amc and give him free role and dont forget to choose him as playmaker.
