But I don't understand why the local media are harassing the heart and soul of my defence. And not once... no... Thrice in the last 8 matches of the season.

I mean, he joined us after 2 months of extenuating contract negotiations. Since he joined the team's conceeded goals per match has gone from 1.4 to 0.95 and, what's more important, he has added that extra bit of serenity and savoir fair that my team lacked.

He's one of the reasons why Sestao will play 2nd Division B Football next season, so I would expect the News of the World- Sestao Edition to treat him fairer.

The lad has gone from 'is enjoying playing for the club' to something in the spirit of 'feels the media has been overcritic with his recent performances' and he has already stated he is considering retiring from an active role for the other season.

They're picking on my MC and SC too. Keep asking me if I think we can hold on to them, doesn't matter what I say, "He's staying", "It'll be difficult to hang onto him", either reply unsettles them.

Local media and fans hassled my MC into retirement and the grand old age of 31 :eek:, and I am playing ECS!

Poor boy got a lot of stick for my poor management of the club even though we are relegation battlers.

I agree with MKUS, sometimes its better to stay schtum.

Don't even dignify them with a "no comment". Just press continue and the journo disappears as the game processes itself. You'll be known as a media-shy manager but you avoid the ups and downs of media trouble-making.

I tell you what bugs me more than any of that, the bloody tag of ‘Media friendly boss’!!

I maybe talk to the press 2 a month if that, how the hell does that make me ‘media friendly’.

I watch a bit if sport on the box and read the back pages of the papers, after every game there will be some comment from the manager, and at some levels they can even fine the manager for not talking to the press.

In every FM save I’ve had I can’t avoid that tag, I’d rather be known as a sh*te manager than that.

In the first game I ever played I got sacked for my comments to the media. I was kind of proud of that. Now I just tell them to p*ss off under my breath while I press the continue button.
