Default Bradford Park Avenue

With the new patch for FM 2005 it time to play FM 2005 - the only true way to play - the LLM way .........

Today the Bradford Park Avenue Board have announced that an obscure manager from somewhere in the states (specifically Sacramento, California) will take the reins of the Conference North Club.

Looks like a great challenge as we have only 12 players and no keeper. At least we won't be steered wrong by an incompetent assistant (as we don't have one.) Onto those obligatory preseason friendlies (thate we will inevitably lose). At least the board only wants a "Respectable League Position"......

Time to get that scout to work to ........

I'm having a great career with BPA.

I couldn't get an AssMan or decent coach to come so I ended up hiring scouts and promoting them to coaching positions.

In my first season I gave the board and fans exactly what they asked for - mid-table obscurity. In the close season I decided that my entire squad bar 2 weren't up to the job and put the whole lot on the transfer list. I got a goodly amount of 1K offers and offloaded more than I expected.

So I brought in dozens of triallists and created an entirely new squad - true the oldest first teamer is 19 but they're doing well for me and I'm hopeful of promotion, although it's only November 2005.

The real challenge apart from crap players is of course the money. I try to keep a tight ship but can't avoid running up horrendous debts; gates of 300 don't help. It's a terrific challenge - I'm loving it.

 Good luck with yours!

Good question Kehoe. TBH I haven't had anything remote;y resembling a 'big occassion' in my one-and-a-half seasons yet but hopefully they'll be put to the test come April.

BPA - Midseason Update 04/05

BPA currently 10W - 7D and 4L sitting in 4th position and exceeding the Fans and Board's expectations. Lets not disappoint them in the 2nd half of the season....as for Cups nothing notable... Players...no tipping but we did bring in 22 players via trials....and looked at many more......one interesting thing of note, no loanees as our competitors can easily bring in those teenage future Premier stars we cant get a Div 2 player to even give us a sniff, thats ok as we are doing just fine with out them ...shaping up the current team for the last half of the season and for next....another item worth noting, seems like corners are either harder or we just are poor at them, some work to do on that tactic......

They're not full stops. They're ellipses.

I get excellent loanees for BPA - it's all a question of geography. Look to your own home *cough* city and youths from nearby big clubs; so long as they can home for tea with mamma you're in with a shout.
