Ok, I've had a bit of a look around in here and it looks like what you want is stories so partly
to pay for the faux pass of asking a question but mostly because my attempts to discuss this with my girlfriend are threatening to break up my relationship (why isn't she impressed by me beating a championship team in a cup game!), here's mine.
I started off with forest green, not proper llama I now know but I figured I'd better have some where to get demoted to, using a huge db with attributes masked. I went through the list of players and offered trails to maybe 30 players and ended up taking on about 10 (I know, I know, not proper llama again but I figure if I was a manager I'd know some of the players not in my team and I'm a newbie anyway).
Had a bit of a struggle at first but I worked on my tactics (ended up a pretty basic 442) and training schedules and by about december I'd got to the top of the league. I decided I finally knew what I was doing and reworked my tactics into an exciting and expansive 442 with lots of forward running and width and long shots and anything else I could put on maximum. Obviously, with this carefully worked out tactic we rapidly plummeted into mid table. I decided I still didn't have a clue what I was doing, went back to my simpler tactic and began the slow fight back up the table.
Got there towards the end of the season by beating the two teams above me in away matches (my proudest moment) but then got knocked out of the conference and below cup (fa trophy?). My team weren't impressed by this, in fact some of them got downright miserable, started having carrer choice worries and forgot some of the basic rules of football ("oh look, round thing coming towards me, that man in the other coloured shirt seems to want it, I think I'll kick it to him") and we managed to lose 3 or 4 on the trot. They did finally work it out (without much help from me) and we ended up winning the league on the last game which made the board, the fans and me very happy.
Well I guess thats enough for now. As the thread says, nobody likes us and I can't get any loan players or good signings. Things are not going so well in our second season, I'll let you know how it turns out.
yours,
not playing by proper llama rules but having fun anyway
