I only play these friendlies at the start of the season too - doing it throughout the season would kill my players | They may well try, but how often does it happen? And how many high-profile frendlies does a Conference South club have every summer?
And no, i dispute the idea LL managers want to have 5 6-0 drubbings during the summer to test their teams. When losing 6-0, only thing you can conclude about your team is that they're pants... they don't need to play PRM teams to know that.
And arranging such friendlies for the money is cheating. End of.

I agree... The only time I ever have friendlies w/ the big clubs is when they buy my players. doing it solely for the cash is a bit narcky.

I think every 'bigger' club usually play one friendly against league sides. This year Watford played against Northwood, and had friendlies in the past years against local lower league sides (st. albans, aldershot, kingstonian). Also, west ham played against thurrock this year. So I think one or two games is acceptable.

Bazs, the point is how often does ONE Conference Regional level play a team from the EPL, or "bigger" club? Thurrock and Northwood don't do that every season, it's a once in a blue moon type deal, which is why it's cheating.
And in those cases, I'd be willing to bet that it was the bigger club having some sort of connection to someone in the LL club. So, if that club comes to you, sure it's acceptable, but the likelihood is small, at best.
There's nothing anyone can say to change the reality of this issue.

Actually Watford had a friendly against Northwood both this, and last year.
Anyway, my ass.man usually the one who arranges the friendlies.

True but how often would Watford play Man U., Arsenal, Chelsea, and West Brom at home if even for friendlies...
The English Rugby team has a better chance of Gladys Knight scoring a try for them.
That's why it's cheating.

Erm...Doug...*ahem*...Thurrock play West Ham every year in a friendly (leastways Purfleet did). It's a sort of tradition |

I've never posted in this forum before. Hi all.
My conscience dictates that the fairest way to arrange friendlies is to let your ass-man do it as he will organise friendlies using the same algorithm as all the computer teams.
And I can't complain, as last season he set me up with a home friendly against Newcastle! Shame my ground was not big enough for this to be of any advantage to my bank balance |

I agree with Ian - valid first post there gratch. I've let the AssMan arrange friendlies (and manage them, tbh) for some time now.
