Maybe you're just super-talented.
Some of us who have been playing the game and playing it LLaMa-style for years still don't find it easy.
In my last campaign I took Bradford Park Avenue to two promotions in four seasons which could certainly be regarded as a bit unlikely. But in my new patched-up campaign I've taken the reins at East Stirling and have imposed extra LLaMa rules on myself. I'm maintaining a 100% part-time policy with maximum wage of 50 quid per week (all but 3 of the squad are on 10-35 quid though). And I'm staying below the 1200 per week wage budget so I keep a small squad.
As a result I'm way way off any promotion-contending quality - for now. I'll persist.
So my suggestion is self-regulation. If it is the challenge of really having to squeeze every point out of every game that gives you the 'fun factor' and you find your current system too easy, just tighten it up with some extra impositions.
